Friday!

Today was Brooklynn's last day in the infant classroom and Monday will be her first official day in the one year old class. Her new teacher told Nick today that B has handled the transition well. She was a little apprehensive the first day, but is now having a fabulous time and eating well. Today the main course for lunch was a turkey and cheese sandwich. Apparently, Brooklynn wasn't happy with just one sandwich and ended up eating two at lunch time. Another good thing about B moving up on Monday is the 130 dollar cut in tuition!

It was such a nice day today after the last few weeks of freezing weather. I haven't been able to take my class outside because of the cold, so today was refreshing! It was almost sixty degrees. We were also excited to take B for a ride in her new wagon that Poopa and Gram gave her for Christmas. She has been very curious about the wagon and is constantly trying to climb into it. We were stuck with taking her on rides back and forth through the living room, so the warm weather today was a great opportunity to take a stroll. B had a blast. She screamed (a happy scream) for the majority of the ride.

New Class Day 3

Brooklynn had another great day in her new class. She spent a couple of hours there this morning and we received a note from her new teacher saying that B had a fabulous time dancing and reading with her new friends. She also said that Brooklynn was a good listener. Ms. Kathy said that B ate all of her fish sticks today at lunch and that she loved every bite. I never would have thought to feed her fish sticks, but apparently she loves them. We have officially taken her off the vegetarian menu and switched her to the regular menu. Hopefully she'll keep up her good eating habits.

Moving On Up

This week Brooklynn has started her transition to the one year old class. She ate lunch with her new class yesterday and today she spent the morning with her new friends and teacher. Ms. Kathy said after lunch when she returned, B went to sleep and slept for three hours! It seems that B is enjoying her new class and all the new friends and exciting big kid activities that come along with it. Her first full day will be next Monday. Nick and I are glad she will be with older kids, but we are sad to leave Ms. Kathy and Miss Krista behind.
Along with moving up, B now has the option of eating school lunch. We have two menu options which include the regular menu and a vegetarian menu. After looking over it, Nick and I decided that B would probably like the vegetarian menu best because she won't eat anything with meat sauce such as spaghetti or ravioli. She tried the vegetarian lunches two days last week and she ate her fruit and vegetables, but not the main course. This week, Ms. Kathy switched her over to the regular menu and she has cleaned her plate both days. To our surprise, it seems B really savored her beefy macaroni and green beans for lunch today.

So Much Stuff!

We have quickly outgrown our three bedroom apartment over the past year. Brooklynn received so much stuff for her birthday and Christmas that Nick and I had to make some decisions about where to put everything. We decided to turn our dining room into a playroom, so for the next five months we will be eating on the coffee table. We thought that this would be a good solution until we move to Greenville and find a house in June. I'm looking forward to having an actual room for Brooklynn to play in, but for now what you see above is keeping her entertained. We still have a few more things to fix, such as the floor mats and organizing the remainder of her toys and books in her nursery. Thanks to Mom and Dad for driving up this weekend to bring the rest of her Christmas presents and for taking the table and storing it for us! Thanks also for buying Brooklynn the cute doll house!

Trouble

Helping us unpack

Trouble, trouble, trouble

Well we were looking forward to the day that Brooklynn began walking comfortably on her own, but we have quickly learned in the past week that a walking Brooklynn means trouble. I was cleaning out our closet a few days ago only to look and find B sitting in my suitcase pulling out my clothes. Today, as you can see from the pictures, Brooklynn decided to stand on her new doll stroller. Luckily, Nick made in across the room in time to catch her before she flipped but she somehow managed to get both feet inside in just a few seconds! It also seems that Brooklynn has figured out cause and effect. She loves push the tv buttons and pull anything and everything off the tv stand because she knows we are going to come flying across the room with a loud, "No!" She seems to think the word "No" is funny. She has also discovered a new love for sticking her hand in the toilet. She bolts for the bathroom every chance she gets and heads straight for the toilet. She also finds it fun to dump Tugboat's water bowl in the floor. I'm beginning to see a pattern here.

Children's Museum

Planting some carrots

Loving the slide

Haha, B wasn't too sure about the Garage Rock room

Playing at the water table

Brooklynn checking herself out in the mirrored tunnel

Mimi, Aunt Shay, Meredith, Kylie and I decided to try out the new children's museum in Greenville on Tuesday. I thought Brooklynn's birthday on Tuesday would be a nice time to go. It seems that everyone else in Greenville also thought Tuesday would be a good day to go as well. The massive amounts of kids didn't seem to bother Brooklynn! I chased her from one side of that place and back five times! As you can see from the pics above she had a fabulous time. I, on the other hand, was exhausted by the time we left! You can see the remainder of our pictures in the January album.
