B's Day

B had an exciting birthday today. Mimi, Pops, Gram, Aunt Kayla, Kaley and I all took B to Chuck E Cheese for the very first time. She loved it! When we got back home she took a nice long nap and then she wanted to watch cartoons. Later on we went out to dinner with Mimi and Pops at Longhorns to celebrate two wonderful years of having Brooklynn in our lives.

I've worked hard making a video of B's second year, but I can't get the thing to upload onto the blog. For now, you can see it on my Facebook wall. I'll continue to try to get it to upload tomorrow.

Happy Birthday, Brooklynn!

Our busy B turns two years old today. I made a video, but Blogspot can be difficult when trying to upload videos. Check back later on today!

Organization!

Brooklynn's birthday party was scheduled for the day after Christmas. We had everything ready to go, but the weather didn't cooperate. Everybody could not get here so we had to postpone it to Monday night. Instead, we spent the day organizing Brooklynn's playroom and packing up the toys she has outgrown.

Floyd Family Christmas

After lunch with the Farrs it was off to Spartanburg to celebrate with the Floyds. The snow was picking up so we rode with Mimi and Pops.

Aunt Shay
Mimi with 2nd cousin Alli (It was her first Christmas!)

After the party, we headed back to Mom and Dad's to open up our gifts. Unfortunately at that point it was snowing pretty hard and had been for awhile. We had to rush to open our presents so we could get back home before the roads got too bad. I didn't get any pictures in the gift opening madness!

Farr Family Christmas #2

After opening her presents from Santa at home we headed up to Gram and Poopa's house to celebrate with Aunt Katie, Uncle Jason, Marlee, Aunt Kayla, and Uncle Justin.
It started snowing, and didn't stop.
Brooklynn got so excited opening her gifts that she would do her hands like this.
We like to call it, "Raising the roof!"
B got lots of gifts, including this new easel. She loves to paint!

I was most excited about a new 50 mm portrait camera lens. Now we can get close ups! Here are a few shots I took:

What did Santa bring B?"

Christmas morning we spent at our house for the first time. Mom and Dad came over to watch Brooklynn open her presents from Santa. Poopa and Gram stopped by a little later in the morning to see Brooklynn's surprises.
Brooklynn's new kitchen from Santa.
She loved it, although she has been a little frustrated that the water won't cut on.

Opening more presents.

"Fun!"
My presents for Nick. His diploma framed and his certificate from the SC Supreme Court.

Wilson Family Christmas

Christmas Eve we celebrated with Nick's Mom's side of the family. B and Marlee were already warmed up and ready to continue their play from the night before. Second cousin Gunner also got to join in on the fun!

Trying to get three 2 year olds to look at the camera at once proved impossible for me.

Brooklynn didn't need any help opening her presents.

But again she was sidetracked with a book.

Sweet girl

Almost got them both looking.

Farr Family Christmas Party

The first Christmas party we went to was on Thursday night with Nick's Dad's side of the family. We went over to one of B's favorite places, Aunt Bidney's house! Unfortunately, Granny and Papa couldn't be there, but B had a nice time playing with cousin Marlee and second cousins Jackson and Tanner.

Brooklynn and Marlee waiting patiently to dig into the presents.

B learning how to open a present.

She got the hang of it pretty quickly.

Brooklynn got a little sidetracked when she opened the book.

Marlee and B had a great time dancing and chasing each other up and down Aunt B's hallway.

Booooo Snow!

Today we were planning on having Brooklynn's 2nd birthday party, unfortunately, the weather has not cooperated. We are going to try to have B's party tomorrow night.

I have lots of pictures to post from the past few days. My goal is to post them a by each party we attended. Stay tuned!

It's Basketball Season

Basketball season has arrived and we are happy about it! Friday night Dad and Nick went to see the Clemson vs. Savannah State game. Then yesterday Nick and I drove up to Greensboro to watch UNC play Texas. It was the first time either of us has tailgated in the snow, but we still had a good time. Today, I went with Dad to the Clemson vs. UNCG game. It was a weekend full of basketball!
Brooklynn got to spend the day and night with Mimi and Pops on Saturday. She had a fun time organizing the presents. I don't think she understands yet that the presents actually have things inside of them. Why would she? She hasn't opened a present since her birthday last year, which I doubt she remembers. I have a feeling by the time her birthday party rolls around on the 26th, she will have mastered the art of tearing into presents.

Here are a few pictures of our busy B tonight:

Santa's Update

Today's Report by Grapes:
Brooklynn was not a good girl today. Her medicine seems to be doing the trick, so she went on to school. When B's mom arrived to pick her up, Brooklynn was right in the middle of throwing a fit. Brooklynn never gets in trouble at school, but today was different. It was snack time and B refused to sit down and eat her goldfish. Instead, she preferred to throw them on the floor even after warned. Good thing her mommy walked in because B had to apologize to her teachers.

Yucky, Yuck, Yuck!

Wow, this stomach bug has really hit both our families hard. Nick's whole family and my whole family have all had it with the exception of Gram and Blake. Tonight I also found out the cousin Kylie and Meredith both got sick. Maybe they shouldn't have invited us to Disney on Ice after all. It is obviously a very contagious virus. We hope cousin Marlee is feeling better tonight. She has ended up in the hospital twice due to this virus. Hopefully she can come back home soon. We are also hoping that Granny is feeling better. She doesn't have the stomach virus, but is also in the hospital. We want to visit her, but we are afraid of bringing this bug around. Get well soon EVERYBODY!

Today's Report by Grapes:
Brooklynn wasn't feeling well again last night and couldn't sleep. Finally her Mom and Dad let her in their bed, but she still tossed and turned all night. She woke up feeling ok and went on to school where she had a good day with her friends. B's teacher did say that B had a rough nap time because her breathing was so heavy due to all her congestion. Her mommy picked her up from school and they went straight to the doctor. I was a little concerned with Brooklynn's attitude when the doc came in. She wasn't happy to see him. She got herself together though and was great the whole way home and during the long wait at the pharmacy. I'd say that overall B was a good girl today considering she wasn't feeling well. Hopefully with her cough medicine and Tylenol she will sleep well tonight.

Elf Update

Brooklynn finally decided on a name for our special guest, Grapes. Grapes will be with us every day until Christmas when he will hop a ride back to the North Pole with Santa. Grapes is now fully registered with the North Pole Elf Registry and is currently on his way to visit Santa tonight since B is in bed.

Today's Report by Grapes:
Brooklynn started her day a little early, 2:45 am, by screaming and shouting that she wanted to "Watch TV!" Luckily, once she was snuggled up in Mommy and Daddy's bed she slept the rest of the night while only slightly hogging Daddy's pillow. She took a nice long nap this morning, rode in her stroller the whole time at the mall, and ate two bananas at supper. Her one set back of the day was hitting her Mommy in the face while being introduced to me (Grapes). We will forgive her since the rest of her day was fabulous and she does have a nasty cold and cough that may be making her feel a little down. We'll see how she does tomorrow at school.

Weekend Fun

Yesterday Mom, Aunt Shay, Meredith and I took Brooklynn and Kylie to see Disney on Ice- Princess Classics. Brooklynn has never seen any of the Disney princess movies, but I figured she would still enjoy it. Her favorite part was when Mickey and Minnie opened and closed the show. I was entertained when the wicked stepmother busted it along with Belle. Tinkerbell also had a close call, but managed to catch herself.

Today we ventured out into the cold to do a little Christmas shopping. Unfortunately, we came back empty handed.

A Very Special Guest Has Arrived!

Our very special guest, Elf on the Shelf, has finally arrived! Brooklynn didn't seem too pleased when I read her the story of a very special elf who was sent from Santa to watch her every move. He will be reporting nightly to Santa on Brooklynn's behavior for the day. He will return the next day to spy on B from a new location in the house.
Reading to B how our new friend came to arrive on our mantle.
Brooklynn spent several minutes just looking at him today. Then she smacked me on the face and said, "No!" I took this to mean that she isn't very happy about our new guest. I told her that our new Elf friend isn't going to have a very good report tonight for Santa after she goes to bed.
As for now B doesn't seem ready to name Elf, but tomorrow is a new day. I'll keep you posted on what she decides!
