Two Months!

Brooklynn had her two month check up and shots this week.  She weighed in at 11 lbs and 12 oz (80th percentile) and was 23 1/2 inches long (80th percentile).  She did great with her shots and was fine by the time she left the doctor's office.

We enjoyed having Dad visit this week on his way to Oklahoma City and Brooklynn is looking forward to visiting both sets of grandparents this weekend while Nick and I take a much needed vacation!  Vegas here we come! I think we are both just excited to have a full night's rest!

Brooklynn Starting to Smile

By the looks of that smile, Brooklynn must be really starting to enjoy life! Life must not be too bad when you have someone who holds you all day (and night) and who brings you a meal every time you cry!

Today we put Brooklynn in her Bumbo for the first time!  She really seemed to enjoy it even though her head was a little wobbly.  I've posted the rest of the pics in the February photo album!

Brooklynn's First Day of School

Brooklynn had a great first day of school!  She got a good report from her teachers.  Below are the things she did at school today:

Language Arts- Brooklynn got to look at different objects pointed out in the room

Cognitive Development- played mirror games

Creative Arts- She had a blast finger painting with her friends. Judging from past experiences Brooklynn may not have really enjoyed this as much as the report card suggested.

Music- sang "Wheels on the Bus"

Motor Skills- played with stacking cups

Life Skills- worked on saying "Hi" and "Bye"

Sensory Stimulation- played with texture books

Our Last Week

Time for some new clothes!

Since it was my last week at home before returning to work on Tuesday, Brooklynn and I decided to go to Greenville for a visit. It was good timing since Nick had a trial for which he needed to prepare. 

Brooklynn had a very exciting week in Greenville. Wednesday we spent the day shopping for new clothes since she had outgrown most of her newborn outfits.  We found lots of cute outfits to begin day care next week. 

Thursday we spent the day with Gram, Aunt Katie, and Marlee. Brooklynn also got meet Nick's Aunt Laura, Aunt Beth, Uncle TJ and cousins Charlie and Melissa.

Friday Brooklynn got to meet Granny and Papa. We were very excited to finally introduce them!  She also got to meet Aunt Bidney.  Brooklynn was crazy about Bidney.  I've never seen her so interested in someone.  It was funny to watch Brooklynn studying Bidney.

We headed back to Chapel Hill over the weekend, just in time for Nick to win his trial!  His teacher said that his closing argument was excellent!  We are very proud of him.

Brooklynn Says, "Hello!"

Brooklynn is starting to make noises other than cries and farts. She is also working on following the path of Michael Phelps (minus the under age DUI and presence in a USC frat house) to become an excellent swimmer. Watch her kick!

Brooklynn is starting to notice the things around her more and more every day! She has discovered her mobile this week  and she also seems to be fascinated with the shower curtain. 

I've started a February Album and will be adding pictures to it throughout the month.

Brooklynn enjoyed her first trip to Greenville last week.  We were excited to introduce her to my family at our late Christmas party and we are looking forward to Brooklynn meeting Nick's side soon.
