It's a Birthday Kind of Day

First of all we need to wish Gram a happy belated birthday! Her birthday was Thursday! Happy birthday, Gram!
Yesterday morning B popped out of bed and all she could talk about was having a waffle for breakfast and strawberries. So we got her a waffle and stopped by the strawberry stand for a gallon. B has almost already eaten half of the bucket in less than 24 hours, with a little help from Mommy of course.
After her nap yesterday it was time for her buddy's birthday party. We headed to Little Gym. B didn't know many kids at this party because most of the kids were older and B and Peyton are in two different classes at school. She still had a good time though. I was super proud of her as we left yesterday. I didn't realize how well behaved B is until I watched her at that party. She is certainly trained to follow the teacher's instructions. At the end of the party the teacher placed little circles on the ground for the kids to sit on while Peyton opened her presents. This was a disaster because all the kids got up and opened Peyton's presents. One little girl actually got into a tug of war with the birthday girl. All the while, B sat quietly on her circle with her hands in her lap and watched. What a sweet girl. I was so proud of her that we went to Yogurt Mountain afterwards.
B dumped all her toppings in the yogurt and then said it was "disguisting." I agreed! By the way, I would like to congratulate Blogspot on their new setup. How I write, edit, and publish blog entries has completely changed. So, blogspot, if your goal was to make blogging more difficult you have succeeded! It is impossible to get pictures to center or to update videos effectively. Ugh!

Finally Complete!

Today we finally took on the task of redoing Brooklynn's bathroom. We decided around Christmas time to go with The Very Hungry Caterpillar theme since she loves Eric Carle so much. Nick got busy painting today and we finally put it all together.
Love this rug!
For the walls we choose the color grass stain.
Here is the shower curtain she got as a Christmas gift. B's words when she walked in this afternoon, "This is awesome!"

Happy Birthday Mimi!

For dinner tonight we all headed over to Pops and Mimi's house for a cookout celebration, and Brooklynn loved Mimi's birthday cake that Pops picked out.
After dinner B spent her time picking weeds for everyone in the family! Brooklynn was also super excited to receive her first big wheel! She is still trying to master her pedaling, but man those things have come a long way. This big wheel has a radio, horn, and a blinker.

It Feels Like Summer

Summer is on its way! Yesterday the ice cream truck showed up in our neighborhood. Brooklynn had no idea why Nick and I started scrambling all the sudden to find some change. She soon found out as she visited the ice cream man for the first time! She chose the Dora ice cream and it looks like we may have to keep a stash of change somewhere for summer! She is a fan!

All In

It seems that Nikki Haley has waited until my Spring Break week to make the rounds to promote her new book, Can't is not an Option. Funny, I clearly remember can't being a large part of her vocabulary when it comes to funding public schools or I can't write new jokes for my numerous tv interviews so I need to regurgitate (that word is for you Kristy) the same ones on every show. Nonetheless, she is almost likeable here. Why am I posting this you may ask. Well, because Clemson gets a huge shout out of course!

Veggie Tales

Last weekend we went to Rabun Gap for a few days. Aunt Shay, Meredith, and cousins Kylie and Keaton also came along. B had such an awesome time with Kylie, and the two of them played so well together.

Sunday we headed to the Smoky Mountain Performing Arts Center in Franklin for Veggie Tales. I just want to take this moment to say how wonderful that place was! The tickets to the performance were cheap, and I bought a medium popcorn and two drinks for a whopping total of 5 bucks. That's right, 5 bucks! We will definitely be keeping our eye on that place for upcoming acts!
Patiently waiting to go inside
B and Kylie with their stuffed Veggies.
Enjoying our snacks before the show.
We had great seats.
B slept through the entire first half of the show. It was just too much fun!
