Christmas Cards

I've had several people ask me why they didn't receive a Farr family Christmas card.  Just a quick post to assure you that you were not left out.  I chose not to send Christmas cards this year.  The reason being that I have written and sent hundreds (and I do mean hundreds) of thank you notes in the past six months.  I really just didn't have it in me this year to write any more addresses on envelopes or buy any more stamps. Sorry. Just the thought of writing on another envelope makes me cringe.  I do promise that next year we will be sending Christmas cards!

Kids that Care

My poor sweet Hayden is a sick boy.  He has had a cough for about three weeks now, and has been to the doctor several times.  He finally was diagnosed with rsv on Friday and started breathing treatments. He had a rough night last night and went back to the doctor this morning.  The doc assured us that he is on the down side of this and that we just have to wait it out because it takes a while for the virus to clear up.

The good news is that the breathing treatments seem to be helping.

In other news, I thought I would share what my class and school worked on Wednesday before school let out for the holidays.

The National Parent Teacher Association is asking for paper made snowflakes to be used to help decorate the school that the Sandy Hook students will be attending in January.  My students were very upset on Monday when they returned to school after the shooting.  Obviously some of them had seen way too much news coverage.  I thought this was a great way for us to show we care about those kids in Connecticut.  Lots of other classes at my school volunteered to help and we ended up with hundreds if snowflakes.

Big Church

This morning at church the children's choir performed their Christmas program.  We decided to let B come to "Big Church" instead of to her Sunday School classroom.  I thought she might enjoy hearing all the big kids sing.  Once the kids  (who were dressed as shepherds) walked in, B wanted to know why they had on their Halloween costumes.

I have to say that I am really proud of her,  she was well behaved in "Big Church."

Hayden has now been to church three times.  He has yet to leave his car seat or even open his eyes at church.  I guess a sleeping baby in the church nursery is much better than a screaming one.

Coughs

Hayden has been fighting a nasty cold. Gram took him to the doctor on Monday and we found out he has an upper respiratory infection.  He has been up and down since then.  Needless to say, we are looking forward to the weekend around here!

Jingle Bell Run

Kaley and I ran the Jingle Bell Run this morning at ICAR.  I've run that course before and I knew how bad the hills were, but this race took us on a different course that was even worse.  Man, am I going to be sore tomorrow.  This was Kaleys first 5k and I hope the course didn't scare her off.  Races have a way of getting into your blood.
My next run is in January with Clayton in Atlanta.  I can't wait for that one.

Hayden's two month pics coming soon!
