Team Moxie

A good friend of mine, Tracy, lost her mom to breast cancer several years ago.  She has been such a blessing during my mom's illness.  It was comforting for me to have someone who has been through the same thing.

Tracy and I decided that this year we are going to start a Relay for Life team in memory of our mothers.  If you aren't familiar with Relay for Life, it is basically a huge event to raise money for the American Cancer Society.  Teams raise money, set up tents, and then take turns walking all night.  Our event is on May 17th.

Tracy and I thought long and hard about what we should name our team.  Tracy came up with Team Moxie.  We chose this name because we like the definition- having guts.  We thought that this word describes both our mothers pretty well.  We have also already designed our t-shirts, which I an very excited about.  These t-shirts will be given to the people who join our team and come out and walk sometime on the 17th.  Of course, you don't have to stay all night, but team members can come at any point.  Tracy and I will surely be there for the whole event!
