bella brown designs

Brooklynn in a bella brown design

My college roomie, Jessica has just started her own company making baby clothes, burp clothes, tutus etc. She just got it running, so I am attaching her new site. I'm so very proud of Jessica who just started sewing in July when her mother-in-law gave her a sewing machine! Check out her site and all the things she has already made. She has sent Brooklynn a dress, burp cloth, and bibs and I must say that I have washed them too many times to count and they still look brand new! I'm glad Jessica has found something that she loves and I encourage you to buy stuff from her if you know any babies who will be arriving soon! I've added Jessica's site to my blog roll so you can find it anytime.

PS- Brooklynn Brown says, "I love the name Bella Brown Designs!" We love anything that involves the name Brown! Plus alliteration is always important!!

Christmas

Well it definitely feels like Christmas time when people start asking what to buy for B! We are so excited about Brooklynn's first Christmas and Birthday, especially after last year when we had to spend the holidays by ourselves. I set up Brooklynn's Christmas/Birthday Wishlist on Amazon if you need some ideas. I posted the link under the photo album. If you don't want to purchase something from Amazon and you are able to find it in the store, please let me know so that I can take it off her list! Hope this helps!

Brooklynn's Hot Dog Dance

It doesn't matter what Brooklynn is doing when the Hot Dog Dance comes on, but she always has to stop and watch. I caught her in the act this morning. She LOVES Mickey Mouse!

A Walking B?

Nick picked up Brooklynn at daycare today and her teacher was excited to tell him about B's day. Miss Crista said that she got out the walker for the first time today for the two students who are older than B,but still not yet walking. Miss Crista put the walker in the middle of the floor and B crawled right over, stood up, and began walking around the room with it! Miss Crista was shocked, as were we when we found this out. B has a walker at home, but it doesn't move very well on the carpet. Miss Crista said that Brooklynn walked around in circles with the walker and wouldn't give it up for her classmates! It seems that since B likes to crawl on her feet instead of her knees that this may actually be helping her when trying to walk. We may have a walking baby before we know it!
Nick was also talking to someone at daycare today about the upcoming Halloween Parade. This is when all the kids at the daycare dress up in their Halloween costumes and have a parade on October 30th. I am so excited to see all the cute costumes that I'm planning on taking a half day off from work! The person who runs the daycare mentioned that the biggest event of the year comes around Christmas when Santa pays a visit and brings all the kids a toy. Each year they ask an infant parent to play Santa and go around to every class to bring the toys. Guess who was asked to play Santa?! Haha. I can't wait to see that! Nick hasn't accepted yet, but I think he is planning on it. Have no fear, I will take pictures!!!

The Past 24 Hours

What an eventful 24 hours we have had at our house. Yesterday afternoon we went to Babies R Us to buy outlet covers and decided to grab something to eat on the way home. Unfortunately, we stopped by Wendy's (for the last time I might add). I noticed at the time my hamburger tasted a little funny, so I gave the remainder of it to Tugboat. All afternoon I was feeling sick and then last night things got worse. Tug also got sick. After I had thrown up about 12 times, I called Mom and Dad who jumped in the car and headed up here. I was hesitant to go to the hospital because I didn't want B around all the sick people and we had no one here to babysit her. Around 10:15 my hands and legs started going numb and I knew that I couldn't wait any longer and we woke up B and headed to the hospital. Brooklynn was such a good girl. She never once cried or got fussy. She just sat in Nick's lap and looked around. Poor Nick carried her around for at least three hours. My parents finally arrived at the hospital around 2:00 and took B back home and put her to bed. I just can't imagine another baby that would have gotten over being woken up at 10:30 and kept up until 2:30 and never once protest. She is such a sweet girl.
Nick woke up around 4 this morning and threw up. This was upsetting because today he was suppose to leave for DC with one of his classes to sit in on the Supreme Court Tuesday morning and then meet Justice Alito. Dad took Nick to the doctor first thing this morning and found out that he has a stomach bug. Luckily the doctor was able to give him some medicine and he headed on up to DC this afternoon. Dad went back to Greenville this morning and Mom is going to stick around here and take care of Brooklynn until I am feeling a little better. How lucky we are to have such wonderful parents! I would have hated for Nick to miss out on meeting Justice Alito because I am unable to keep up with Brooklynn.

Lunch

Nick and I tried to give Brooklynn some real bananas and peas for lunch today, but she just wasn't interested. She was, however, very interested in her sippy cup which we haven't really used much in the past. Trying the sippy cup and food at one sitting may have been too much. She just smashed a couple of peas and played with her cup.
