Relay Links

Thanks to everyone who has joined our Relay for Life team.  Also, thanks to those of you who have donated in Mom's memory.  We have raised almost 2,000 dollars!  We have lots of fundraisers planned, and I know of at least 15 more people who are planning on joining our team!

I've created a link to the left if you are interested in joining or donating.  It's a great cause and we need more walkers!  I've had lots of people tell me they can't join our team because they can't stay all night.  No need to worry about that.  We already have plenty of people who will stay the night but we do need more evening walkers!  You can just come and go as you please!

Four Months

This week Hayden had his four month check up.  He is still trying to beat the RSV cough, which we were told would last until the end of January.  It is definitely getting better though.

Here are Hayden's stats:
Weight: 18.06- 95th percentile
Height:27 inches- 97th percentile

Yes, Hayden is a big boy.  He is bigger than most of the babies in his class and he is the youngest by months. We started him on rice cereal yesterday, although he isn't a fan yet.   I took some photos of my sweet boy this week.  Enjoy!

Team Moxie

A good friend of mine, Tracy, lost her mom to breast cancer several years ago.  She has been such a blessing during my mom's illness.  It was comforting for me to have someone who has been through the same thing.

Tracy and I decided that this year we are going to start a Relay for Life team in memory of our mothers.  If you aren't familiar with Relay for Life, it is basically a huge event to raise money for the American Cancer Society.  Teams raise money, set up tents, and then take turns walking all night.  Our event is on May 17th.

Tracy and I thought long and hard about what we should name our team.  Tracy came up with Team Moxie.  We chose this name because we like the definition- having guts.  We thought that this word describes both our mothers pretty well.  We have also already designed our t-shirts, which I an very excited about.  These t-shirts will be given to the people who join our team and come out and walk sometime on the 17th.  Of course, you don't have to stay all night, but team members can come at any point.  Tracy and I will surely be there for the whole event!

If you live out of town, or are unable to walk the relay, you can support our team by donating.  Our team goal is 2,000.  All you have to do is click on the link below and make a donation!  We also would LOVE to have anybody and everybody join our team and walk with us on the 17th.  The more, the merrier!!

Tiger Town

Yesterday Dad, Brooklynn, and I took Hayden to his first Clemson basketball game.  Hayden was  decked out in his Clemson gear ready to go.
Notice his cute little Tiger shoes.

B, of course, had a good time.  She enjoyed time outs the most as she copied all the Rally Cat moves.  Hayden watched the first half and was very intrigued by all the lights and noise.  The second half he just couldn't keep those eyes open and slept the rest of the time.

Tonight we went to get ice cream, and you know B loaded hers down with all sorts of junk.  She actually ate it this time though.

Happy New Year!

I don't think I have ever been so glad to see a year end.  Hopefully 2013 will bring nothing but smiles.  Last year my New Year's resolution was fifty volunteer hours.  I didn't make that for obvious reasons.  This year I have several resolutions:

1- 50 hours volunteer service- since I didn't meet last year's goal of fifty hours I am going to try again this year.

2- Run a half marathon- I have participated in tons of 5ks over that past several years.  I also have started training for a half marathon year before last only to be sidelined by a knee injury.  I had hopes again last year, but again it was put on the back burner while I was pregnant.  This year, with the encouragement of two friends, Monica and Sarah,  I'm going to try again.  April is the half marathon date.

3- 500 miles- yes my goal is to run, walk, bike or kayak 500 miles this year.  I'm excited to finally get a jogging stroller for Christmas this year.  Once it warms up a bit, Hayden is going to start running races with me.  I can't wait for that!

Pump It Up!

Brooklynn had an awesome 4th birthday party.  I think it was the most successful yet.  She had a blast! Below are a few pictures from Saturday.
 Dad, me and Blake
They loved the gigantic slide and I have to admit that I loved it too!
Playing a little basketball with Daddy
Kylie made it all the way to the top of the rock wall!
B decided to give it a shot after watching Kylie.
 Hayden getting some Pops time
The crew- notice the boys to the left wrestling. Ha!
A little shy while everyone was singing Happy Birthday!
Blowing out the candles on her Cinderella cake.
Check out that cool throne she got to sit on while opening presents.
Garren showing off his goody bag.
One of B's favorite gift was her Sophia the First book.  Imagine that, a book!

A special thanks to all of you who came to B's party.  I know that it must feel like a hassle to attend so many birthday parties.  I especially appreciate Shay, Mike, Meredith and the girls who drove all the way from Georgia.  B was excited to have her cousins there.  We really also appreciate Aunt Laura, Chuck and Beth for coming!  I know that there is so much going on this time of year.

Christmas 2012

First of all let me just wish my sweet Brooklynn a happy fourth birthday!  Her party is this afternoon, so I will post pics tonight.

I'm not going to lie, Christmas this year stunk!  I stayed with Hayden in the hospital Christmas Eve night and Nick came home and got Brooklynn up the next morning to open some of her presents.  He went ahead and gave her the biggest present, a doll house, the rest we waited to open until Hayden and I got home from the hospital.

Christmas night Nick's family came over to exchange gifts.

The next night we had Dad, Blake, and Kaley over for dinner.  Yes, you heard correctly.  I made dinner (with help from Kaley, of course!)  I actually used my wedding china for the first time ever.
Here's the proof!
So excited!

Brooklynn was kind enough to open all of Hayden's presents since he wasn't feeling up to it.
Of all the gifts B received she was most excited and pajamas with feet.  Ahhh, the little things.

I'll end with my favorite pic from Christmas.
Pops got a new drill and he made a buzzing noise while pointing it at B.  She about jumped out her skin.  It was pretty funny!
