The nurse came over yesterday for the first time and taught us how to flush the iv line. The nurse, Jean, will come on Wednesdays and Fridays to administer the ivs. Hopefully this will help Mom to feel a little better at home during the week and also give Dad a break. Mom had her first iv treatment last night and perked up considerably by the time I left. In fact, she actually corrected Dad's grammar at one point which made us all laugh. A sure sign she is feeling a little better at least. When Aunt Shay left last night Mom told Shay that she was sorry she had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Those of you moms and teachers out there are probably familiar with that children's book.

Mom is resting comfortably today in her new hospital bed that was delivered this afternoon and is taking in much more fluid than I have seen her drink in quite awhile.

Thanks for the update Jill. Just tell your mom I love her and sending up so many prayers for her. Funny abput the book....I bought it for Nolan. When he was in the first he missed the bus and my sister brought him home (she taught at his school then)! and he came in and just broke down and cried that he 'had a horrible, horrible day.'
Turned out he got 3 checks for talking, the cooks just gave him trunks instead of the tree part at lunch (broccoli) , and then he missed the bus. Thought that book was appropriate for him. And I hav read it so many times to him when he was little, to our Brooklyn and to Gavin. Thanks again.
