Last year about this time I started pestering Nick to take me to the Family Circle Cup. It took him about 9 months to finally agree to buy tickets (for Valentine's Day) and this weekend the event FINALLY rolled around!
Nick and I headed to Daniel Island on Friday night. We had tickets to the singles and doubles semi-finals on Saturday and the finals for both on Sunday. We got there a little early Saturday morning, so we started roaming around the grounds. You can imagine my excitement when we walked up on this:
Caroline Wozniacki, the number one ranked female tennis player in the world.
I'm sure that I had the biggest grin on my face for the entire 45 minutes she practiced. We were actually this close!! Stupid me left the zoom lens in Greenville, but I didn't even need it!
She signed autographs for anyone and everyone afterwards. Of course, I had nothing for her to sign, and Nick wouldn't give up his Texas Rangers hat.
Go Caroline! She ended up winning the whole tournament, and we got to watch her practice before her match on Sunday as well.
Later on Saturday afternoon we watched Caroline play Jelena Jankovic (former world number one). I was super excited about this match.

Saturday night we had tickets to a mixed doubles match with John McEnore and Chris Evert vs. Tod Martin and Martina Navratilova. Nick got us third row seats!
Tod and Martina
My favorite tennis player of all time, Johnny Mac! And yes, this was the highlight of the trip, and no Nick still wouldn't give me his Texas Rangers hat for an autograph. His argument was that McEnroe would refuse to sign it since he is a Yankees fan. I'm pretty sure I could have persuaded McEnroe.
Nick and I had such a fabulous time. We both can't wait to go back next year, and hopefully in a few more years Brooklynn can join us!
