NC Zoo

Today we took Brooklynn to the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro. We were a little disappointed with the zoo for several reasons. First, it wasn't as nice as we were expecting. I guess after visiting Animal Kingdom in Orlando nothing will compare. Also, all the animals were hunkered down out of the sun, so we didn't get to see very many of them.
Brooklynn's favorite part was the seals and the sea lion. She really like watching them swim by!
She also like the polar bear. We were hoping to see him swim in his pond from the deck below, but he was soaking up the sun today. I had no idea that polar bears were capable of living in a North Carolina climate, but he seemed content. I did notice that the zoo is well on its way to raising two million dollars to build a new polar bear habitat and it's a good thing.
We also saw bison.
Even though we were disappointed with the zoo, Brooklynn still had a good time and enjoyed seeing some animals. Nick and I had a good time taking in the various tattoos and airbrushed t-shirts. Nick's favorite of the day was the lady who had Jesus tattooed across her entire chest, which was showing nicely thanks to her low cut shirt. My favorite part of the day was when we were waiting to get a look at the black bears along with every one else in the Piedmont and Brooklynn suddenly yelled, "MOVE." It was hard to keep a straight face.

Ready for bed with Tigger and Neigh Neigh after a long day!

You may be wondering why I haven't started a March album. Well, I have used up all the free space in my online album and will have to pay to add more. I've been searching for another free online album that I like as much as picasa web, but have found nothing. I finally just realized I could start a different account, which I have done. You can click on the link on the left to see the rest of the zoo pics and all B's March pictures.
