It's Almost Ours!

Well I had planned to have more time to blog this weekend, but it didn't happen. I have Open House tomorrow which requires two 20 minute presentations so I have been making a Powerpoint today. Progress Reports also go out Thursday and all my grades have to be in tomorrow. I have been catching up on my grading and then trying to figure out this new online grade book. Did I mention I also needed to get my lesson plans done for next week. Needless to say, not much time for blogging.

Brooklynn had a lazy day yesterday. She took two giant naps. We had to wake her up both times because she was on hour three! Today we officially retired B's high chair to it's new home in the attic. B is now only sitting in her booster seat! She loves it!

This week is a big week for us! We finally close on our house Thursday. We both needed to be in our jobs for thirty days before we could close, which will be Thursday. I have to take the day off, so B will have a super short day at school.

Once closing is over we have a huge list of home improvement projects. The biggest and longest will be our yard project. This fall we plan on trimming back all the trees and then ripping up the ivy and bushes in the front of the house and planting new bushes and plants.

The spring is when things are going to get really exciting. We will tear out all of the grass in the front and back, plant a different type of grass, rip out the huge ugly flower beds in the front, both sides and all around the backyard. The jungle in the second fenced in backyard will also be coming down. We are planting all grass, getting rid of the beds and jagged rocks. The tree house will also get a kid friendly makeover and B will get a new swing set. Overall, the goal is from jungle to child's play haven! No bush, tree, plant or flower will be safe, most of them are going to be ripped out! It will be quite a job. I can't wait! If you know any good landscapers, please let me know!

I recognize that booster seat! Glad my shower gift is getting good use. :) We have 2 at our house. Charlie still sits in one so he can reach the table and Jay splits time between the booster and his highchair. LOVE that thing!
