A little dialogue

Today I had what felt like a real conversation with Brooklynn. As we were riding back from Mimi and Pops house, I asked her what she did at school today. This was our conversation:

Me: What did you learn at school today?

Brooklynn: Sam

Me: You saw Sam today?

Brooklynn: Yes, tigers

Me: You learned about tigers, too? What else did you learn at school today?

Brooklynn: Colors

Me: What colors did you learn?

Brooklynn: Pink

Me: Pink, like Mimi's shirt! What other colors did you learn?

Brooklynn: Yellow

Me: Any other colors?

Brooklynn: Blue

May not seem too exciting, but it made me smile. B has been around for almost two years and it just seems weird when I ask questions that I've asked everyday since she was six weeks and she actually now understands!

Tonight B walked into her freshly painted room, pointed to the wall and said, "Socket." I have no idea where she picked that up.
