You Gotta Do What You Gotta Do!

Nick and I have been visiting several different churches over the past few months. Today we joined Westminister Presbyterian Church.

This morning was a little chaotic. We had to be at church at 8:30 to learn what it means to be Presbyterian, meet the elders, and fill out the necessary paper work before the 11:15 service.

Here is B enjoying her breakfast at 7:55. She was all ready to go and all I had to do was put on her new pretty purple dress and church shoes. Sound easy? Wrong! B absolutely refused to take off her pajama bottoms and wear her church shoes. She kept screaming that her shoes were too small, which they aren't. So I had two choices:

A. Force her into the proper clothes and deal with the melt down hoping that she would recover before we dropped her off at the nursery for 4 hours.

B. Let her wear her pj bottoms underneath her dress and red Crocs that are ironically two sizes too small.

As the minutes ticked off the clock, I did what any good mom would do and choose option B. Red Crocs are better than no shoes at all! After the service we went back to pick up B before meeting all the church members and she was having a blast with all her new friends singing, "The Wheels on the Bus." I felt a little silly holding my daughter with her pretty purple dress, pajama pants, and red Crocs at the meet and greet but anyone with a two year old will understand. You gotta do what you gotta do!

So I leave you tonight with a picture of Brooklynn before bed.
Yes, she is still in her purple dress, red Crocs, pajama pants, and straw hat that she talked Mimi into getting her at Old Navy yesterday. She wore that hat all day long on Saturday and I guess I should consider myself lucky that she didn't see it before church this morning! ;)
