Brooklynn took a huge nap this afternoon and when she woke up we swung by Mimi's house, picked her up and headed to the park at the Pavilion. I figured today was a good day for it since it wasn't as hot and it was cloudy. The perfect weather for sliding. B had a good time on the swings, driving the fire truck and of course, sliding. When we got home we had dinner and then went on our nightly walk.
This evening Brooklynn and I read a book about the difference between big things and small things. We also found things in the playroom that were big (such as the big ball) and things that were small (such as the small ball.)
Here are a few things that B has done lately:
1. As you know Brooks is having a hard time sharing. We went to the library earlier in the week and got several books about sharing. Nick read "Sharing is Fun" to B yesterday and as he finished I said, "See B, sharing IS fun." She looked at me and shouted, "Mine!" She definitely knows the difference between the two.
2. When we were eating lunch Brooklynn all the sudden yelled, "More turkey please!" It seems weird to me when she speaks in sentences to communicate because she's been around 18 months and its been a guessing game up until now. It is surprising when she voices her wants.
3. Yesterday Brooklynn took off for the living room and all the sudden the cat starts making all these awful noises. I ran in there and B was on her back holding the kitten by her back two legs, upside down yelling, "Kitty, Kitty." Poor Piper, she is such a sweet cat and does so well with Brooklynn. We are working on being gentle when we pet Piper.
4. We were at the Bloom the other day getting groceries and they have a cart with a car underneath for kids to ride in while their parents shop. Brooks loves the car. We were walking down the aisle and one of the employees was bending over blocking the way. As we passed by, Brooklynn honked the horn and the lady said, "Well excuse me, thanks for the warning."
5. Brooklynn has decided when she hears other kids or babies out in public crying that it is her cue to scream as loud as she can. The scream comes out as more of a shrill and is not very pleasing to the ear. This was a little embarrassing when we ate at Cracker Barrel Saturday morning.

Reaves does the same screaming thing as B. Let me know if you figure out how to get her to stop doing it!
